How many calories should I be consuming daily in order to lose weight?

I would like to lose a little weight before summer begins. Do you think a diet of 1,500 calories a day is enough?

It all depends on your age, exercise level, height, and ideal weight. The best thing to do is talk to your doctor or school nurse.
The medical fact is that exercise and changing your diet are equally effective in causing weight loss. That means, if you start to make a habit out of exercising every day then that will help you just as much as changing your diet. The important thing is to maintain your changes by continuing your exercise or diet or both.

You should not be eating more calories than you are burning in a day… There’s where you should start… I would guess you should not be eating more than 1200
find a fitness (calorie) calculator on the net. it will tell you exactly how many calories a day you need to consume to maintain your weight. so, what you do – take off 200-300 calories off that number and that is how much you have to eat to loose weight and not mess up your metabolism.
