How to get rid of belly and love handles?

I’m not obese but I am overweight. Most of my excess weight goes to my belly and I have love handles. What’s a good healthy and effective way to get rid or reduce this excess fat? I’m looking for good advice on a food diet (what to eat and what to avoid) and also what type of excercises will help me reduce this. also, if there are any other ways, pls don’t hesitate to throw it in there.

The first thing to do is start eating healthier,which means lots of fruits and vegetables,chicken,fish,and turkey,and avoiding to much red fatty meat,a little is okay just don’t over do it.Next is start a good exercise plan,weight training always worked real well for me because it takes fat and turn it into muscle.Next is starting an abdominal exercise routine in which there are hundreds of abdominal workout dvd’s out there or a trainer can show you the best exercises to get the most benefit from.Last but not least,when you make this commitment to get in shape you need to stick with it because it will take time,so set goals and when you reach that goal set another but don’t give up or give in because you can get there if you try.Good luck.
going for long, slow jogs burns calories. Dieting would just be to eat healthy food, such as fruit and veg, and also to have multiple small meals throughout the day rather then 3 large ones. Also doing weight training is great for weight loss as it increase your metabolism (how many times your heart beats per minute) and doing a lot of stomach exercises such as leg raise, sit ups, pilaties (not sure how to spell that) and just generally being more active.
There is a guy named Arun Chase, a well known bodybuilding expert. He had a similiar issue as you, not overweight but excess fat around the belly. He put together a good program. I think his "Pack Muscle Destroy Fat" program would work well for you. He also provides some good nutritional advise, which I know you are looking for. Apart from adopting a healthier diet, the best way to lose excess body weight and to get rid of love handles is by finding some sort of fitness activity that you would enjoy. This could be yoga, tai chi, runnung, dancing, etc. If you enjoy what your doing you will more than likely stick with it.

How about changing your diet.
1. No soda
2. No caffiene
3. No Diet Soda or Sugar Free stuff.. ( your body gets all confused)
4. Eat a good breakfast, lil snack, lunch, light dinner
5. No heavy meals past 6PM you don’t want a lot of food in your belly when you’re sleeping.
6. No TV Get outside and PLAY
7. Play a sport and feel challenged
