Is it safe and recomended to take several dietary supplements a day?

Is it safe and/or recomended to take several dietary supplements a day (like one Iron, one vitamin C, a B complex and a Calcium +D +Zinc?) Or rather take a vitamin complex like "One a Day or Centrum?

Dietary supplements are completely safe. But it is better to take a single supplement per day.different types of supplements are available at

i was taking a lot of vitamins at one point until i saw my doctor because i became very nauseous. I took the bottles of what i was taking in to my doctor to look at and they told me it was way to much for my body and i was not using half of it ! all i needed was a vitamin called "One a Day Women’s"
