So the new thing some trainers are promoting is Calories in VS. Calories Burned. That makes sense….assuming you know how many approx. calories you burn all day (either using a bodybugg, or online calculator). Assuming you eat less calories than that number a day…you should in reality…lose weight right?
So here’s the scenario. On Average let’s say you burn 2500 calories a day…meaning to lose weight you either should eat 2000 calories a day, or 1500 for extreme weight loss. Let’s say you put down 1800 calories a day…but a large majority of those calories are from fast food (not saying i’d do it) like McDonalds, Taco Bell, Burger King..etc…
Do you still lose weight?

200 lb male, 23 yr old 5’9, 23% body fat.
Desk Job w/weight training & cardio routine 4-6 times a week.
I used www.freedieting.com to calculate the caloric intake needs…
i’ve always been overweight i used to eat 5 meals a day. now i eat 3 meals a day never more than 1500 calories a day.i walk or do yoga 2 or 3 times a week. i’m a girl 14 5’5 and 270 pounds.i haven’t been seeing any differences in my body so i started taking the NV beauty & weight loss pill. it makes me not feel hungry all day with just one pill and speeds up my metabolism. i also take one-a-day teenage multivitamin so i don’t get dry hair/skin or whatever while i’m dieting. is their any risks to taking this pill i really don’t see the harm in it
Why is it that people in western countries like the US, die from obesity & eating too much food? While at the same time people in poor places like Africa, die of starvation & lack of food?

I jog outside sometimes, but its really rainy where I live & I only go when its not raining out. I definitely cannot afford a gym membership or any fancy equiptment. what are some cheap ways to still get a good workout indoors? i do crunches & stuff like that but those arent really much of a workout. thanks!
So I do know that I want to be 130lbs by September.
Right now, I am 144lbs, (and I’m 5’6" if that helps).
I do know that I enjoy yoga, walking, and since it’s summer vacation, I will have more free time.
Meal-wise… I’m a vegetarian and I don’t drink milk. I want to eat as many fruits&veggies as possible.

Now I am taking Synthroid for a very inactive thyroid, and it seems no mater how much I decrease my caloric intake, I do not loose any weight. To complicate matters, I am allergic to fish, seafood, & soybeans…. and I am single mom with a VERY limited income. Anyone out there know of any diets that would be effective? (please don’t say ask your doctor, as I can barely afford the Snythroid, let alone another doctor visit) – Thanks.
I am a teenage girl, and I am 26 pounds heavier than I would like to be. I can’t loose weight no matter what I try. I just gain it back. I need something that I can stick to. * I am also vegetarian.
Here is what I eat during the day,Sometimes eggs or cereal&coffee for breakfast. PBJ and water fro lunch. afternoon snack varies, and same with dinner. I eat a lot of bread and pasta. I know that I don’t need to do that, so just FYI. Lol. I have even tried the whole ‘eat less than your recommended calorie intake." I don’t eat all that much to begin with. Any legitimate suggestions?

Just to verify – I have back & neck injuries which limit the amount of vigorous exercise I can do. I am not asking for a exercise program because I know my limits of what I can and cannot do without hurting myself & exacerbating my condition…. I am looking for a diet which compliment what exercise activities I can do that will work for someone with a sluggish / inactive thyroid.

weight loss if i stick to this routine for a few weeks?
monday-friday 45 minutes running/walking, gym 30-60 minutes (bike and elliptical and machines)
tues& thursday 50 minutes of hip hop dancing
saturday and sunday-gym, or workout video.
i eat fairly healthy i strive for 1,200 calories a day and my food consists of:
breakfast: fiber 1 cereal with a fruit, or 2 eggs with a fruit.
lunch: 1/2 jelly sandwhich 2 fruits 1 veggie
snack fruit or veggie
dinner fruits and veggies along with tuna or soup or a little bit of what i make for my parents (it varies. pizza, pasta anything)
snack veggie or and cottage cheese
lately i’ve been kinda on a plateau and haven’t lost much weight, so i switched up my exercise routine. do you think this will work? im looking to loose 10 pounds and my belly fat by march 31. im 120 and 5 foot 1/2 inch. please don’t tell me my weight is fine now. ive checked the bmi calculator for 110 and it’s still in the normal range. thanks everyone
