I am taking a nutrition class and I have to come up with a one day diet plan for a 10 year old girl whose parents had confined her to a closet and greatly restricted the dietary intake for approximately 2 years. Her height and weight are much less than expected for a 10 year old child. Also I have to explain why I chose the number of calories and food types. Anybody got any ideas.

detoxified weight loss program?




My doctor has started a new program to help his patients change their lifestyle to lose weight and fat. There are different versions of the program such as a 5 week candida, 20 day hormonal balance, etc. (they are all designed to help with weight loss and trouble areas on the body) With each program you get some type of kit that comes with nutritional shakes that is supposed to take the place of a meal, all natural pills, and personalized patient plan. During the first week or so with any of the programs they have what is called a body cleanse. Depending on the type of program that is chosen and how much weight needs lost will determine how restrictive food options are. For each program there are a few detox phases, 3 to 4 days long, that is supposed to rid the body of toxins. During the detox phase the only thing that is allowed to be eaten or drank is a mixture of water, lemon juice and some type of natural maple syrup (for calories). It seems like a good porgram because it is supposed to almost eliminate cravings. The problem with any of these programs is it costs a lot, starts out at 0 plus.

Does anyone have any experience with this type of weight loss? Has anyone participated in a similar program? Are there similiar programs out there that are cheaper?

I am 19 Male 5′10" 220lbs and somebody i met in the gym gave me a diet plan that consists of a daily intake of
Protein -220 grams
Carbohydrates -550 grams
Fats -42 grams
Total Calories -3419
what do u guys think im new to fitness and nutrition so i would really appreciate all the help i can get thanks all.

Is that true?
If it is true, does "nutrition" just mean all of the good stuff for you?
Does it take away calories or other bad stuff?

Weight Loss?




Im 34 year old female, Im 5′5 and weigh 298 …I have hashimoto disease (thyroid disease). I really am serious about loosing weight. I went to my dr today and his answer was for me to have gastric bypass done… but i refused. I watch what I eat, count calories, see a nutrionalist and exercise everyday. But the weight still wont come off…I never gain, never loose any..just stay the same. I dont look like I weigh as much as i do (thank god) and my tells me he loves me the way I am… but Im not happy. Is there anything else I could try, would a detox work?
Please if you have something nasty to say, just dont even answer … not everyone is perfect!!
I tried eating less but my nutrionalist said I need to eat more to keep my metabolism up

What is really going on with overeating?




When a fat person seems to be only half listening, when her mind seems to be wandering, when she’s bored, she’s thinking about food. As a fat person, you have food on your mind almost all of the time. As soon as breakfast is over, you begin thinking about what you’re going to have for lunch. After lunch, it’s time to think about dinner, or stocking the fridge for tomorrow. In view of your virtual obsession with food, it’s ironic how forgetful you can become.
I’m also unaware of the calories i eat everyday.

What gym machine makes you lose the most calories?




Hello, I was wondering if you guys know what machine at the gym makes you lose the most calories/hourly. I know the treadmill is on the top list but what other gym equipment helps you the most. I don’t want to work out a specific muscle or anything just want to lose calories.The gym I’m going to attend is Bally Total Fitness. Would really appreciate it if you answer my question, thanks.

What is the best workout / diet program for me?




My background: 25 year old male, 6′2", 180 lbs, basically fit and trim. I’ve been doing Matt Furey’s combat conditioning, eating less than 2000 cals/day and doing about 30 pull ups daily. I look and feel fit, but I have kind of a wiry look.

My objectives:
1. exercise no more than 30-60 mins a day.
2. eat well, but on a budget(!) approx. /day
3. gain strength, size to arms / torso
4. put on a little muscle weight/size without having to consume too many calories
5. avoid using free weights / machines, if possible, as I don’t have them

I’m not a crazy anorexic or anything, but I believe that consuming as few calories as possible will lead to a longer life.

So I really want a lifestyle that is healthy and sustainable. IE: I don’t want consider the consumption of 5000 calories worth of expensive placebo supplements sustainable.

What is the best workout and diet program for me? Thanks a million!

I have a high metabolism and am trying to work out and put on a little bit of weight. However, I don’t want to eat junk food and such which is high in saturated fat and other bad calories. What would consist of a good diet for putting on weight but still staying healthy?
