Unchanging Weight……?

Ok, like, according to the daily calorie needs calculator thing, for extreme fat loss, i have to eat 1241 calories a day. i wasn’t planning on losing weight or anything, i was just curious about how many calories i should be eating. (it’s summer, and i have nothing better to do). so i wrote down what i eat and how many calories it is. and i’ve been eating less than 1241 calories, but im still the same weight….what does this mean? and yes, im exercising the same amount and stuff…
Well, but I didn’t change the amount of calories I eat! It turned out I’ve been eating less than 1241 calories for a long time, but I’m still the same weight, even though I’m actually supposed to be eating more to maintain my current weight

I am 5 ft 1 and 147 lbs. I was 120 lbs pre-pregancy. I have a 10 month old and am pretty much exclusively breast feeding. I also just started training for a marathon and am running currently about 15 miles a week (but will be increasing rapidly to about 30-40 miles per week). I have tried calorie calculators but even if they say they take into account breastfeeding, they really don’t. They still tell me I need to eat 1200 or 1300 calories to lost weight, which doesn’t make any sense. I think I need at least 1500 calories per day but with breast feeding I should probably be able to have more and still lose the weight that I want to lose.

How many calories should I be eating per day to reach my weight loss goal but remain healthywhile breastfeeding?

Weight Loss Question?

i know there are many variables which need to be considered in these questions, but here it goes anyway…

I am 27, 6’2", and about 310 lbs. I (and many online calculators) have calculated my BMR at about 2500 cals/day, which from my understanding means that even by lazing around and not being active, thats how many calories my body consumes on its own just to keep going.

Does that mean if I consume LESS than that amount on a daily basis, whether through eating less or excersising more, that I will lose weight?

ie For the past four days, I have been consuming below 1500 calories a day in 3 square meals, and though I know results don’t physically show that soon, I just want to make sure I am on the right track…. I have read that 3500 calories makes up one pound. so technically if those numbers are accurate, I have lost just over a pound in 4 days?

PS – I dont have a bathroom scale so can’t check my math… ;o)

Weight Loss?

I just started a weight loss plan and was wondering when I are to weigh myself. Morning when I am at my lowest weight on a empty stomach, mid afternoon or evening when I had dinner and are probably at my highest?

Also, if I am to monitor my calorie intake, how do I know how many calories are in items that arent packaged with a nutrition listing on it; such as a small apple, half banana, small piece of skinless/boneless chicken strip or 15 grapes?

I cant go over as far as eating because my plan provides the servings size and measurements but how do I know what the calories really are.

How do I calculate this?

I’m wondering how many calories I burn a day by just existing (if I just layed in bed all day), and can’t seem to find a reliable calculator online. This isn’t a weight-loss thing; I’m just curious. I’m 5’2" 102 lbs, if that helps.

Thanks!

I am 17, about 5’2 or 5’3, I weight about 148 pounds. I would like to get down to about 120 or 125 pounds.I use to be about 168 pounds but I lose that..I was taking in very fewer calories. I am maintaining the weight loss pretty well. But sometimes, I overeat….and I get scared that I will one day gain that way back, plus more. I really want to lose the rest of the weight,I really don’t want to be a diabetic or anything, like my family members.

I went on this website and it gave me this information; It camed off of a "Calorie Calculator.
Your results for the Women’s Nutrition Guide Calorie Calculator

These results will help you to know how many calories you need to maintain your current weight, and the number of calories needed per day to achieve your goal weight in a healthy, steady manner.

You need 1829.7 calories per day to maintain your current weight without exercise.

You need 1744.6 calories per day to reach your goal weight slowly and maintain that weight without exercise.

If you reduce your current caloric intake to 1329.7 calories per day you will lose one pound per week without exercise.

If you increase your current caloric intake to 2329.7 calories per day, you will gain one pound per week.

I was going to do the one with the 1300 something calories, but I don’t know yet.

Every food you buy (except for produce) is required to have a nutrition facts label on the packaging. I’ve never seen soda, juice, milk, etc. without that label. So why is it that alcoholic beverages don’t have nutrition labels on them? (at least to tell you how many calories and all that?)

I want to lose some weight, about 15 lbs a month. School starts tomorrow, and so it will be a little hard to find out how many calories are in each piece of food, but… I have volleyball practice for 2-2 1/2 hrs after school for about 2-3 months plus games. When I get home from school, my plan is to do Leslie Sansone’s 2-Mile Walk (30 min) and then Denise Austin’s ‘Get Fit Fast’ (for abs) video levels 1 and 2 (10 min each level). then if I have time, I am going to try to ride my bike 3-4 miles (9-12 x’s around my block) And then on Saturdays, I will try to run about 1-3 miles (not all at once) but by doing this for about 3 months, how much weight do you think I could lose a week? btw, I do not have any meal plans to go by so any suggestions would be helpful. I will only eat about 1,000 calories a day. And please don’t say "eat whole grains or whatever" something like "1 cup of special k cereal with 1/2 cup of skim milk" or anything like that would be helpful. thanks to all who answer!
btw the way, I am a 14 year old girl, I am 5’4", and 146 lbs.

just like from breathing and walking and stuff
NOT one to figure how many calories you need to maintain your weight
i know most people say it’s 1000-1200 calories but the reason i want a calculator is i mean there must be some difference between the amount a 300 pound middle aged man burns and a 120 pound 15 year old girl lol
anyway thanks!

I just joined a gym and the treadmil that I was on was telling me how many calories I burned, are they accurate? can I trust them.

Technorati Tags: , , , ,

I just went on the treadmill and it said i burned 400 calories at 4.7 mph for around 26-28 minutes. But then I entered the activity online and it said I only burned 82. I’m looking to lose weight…so I need to know how many calories I really burned and there’s a difference of over 300. So is the treadmill accurate, and if so, how does it know how many calories people of different weight and strength burned?
