Need weight loss help, not diet advice?




Okay, I know how to eat healthy. I have already begun cooking all my meals at home, doing the right thing food wise to help me in weight loss. I’m already eating more fruit and veggies, and less meat and correct size portions and eating things like fresh fruit and air popped pop corn for desserts and snacks. I even invested in a small cooler and have begun bringing my own healthy lunch to work and healthy snacks to eat during the day. I’ve got the eating/food part down. That I don’t need to tweek. Okay..whew.

Now, I’m 420 pounds. I know I need to loose weight, but I’m not sure where to begin. I know my ideal weight is 130-140 pounds but right now my goal is to get down to 300 pounds, then I’ll make a new goal to drop another 100 pounds and so forth.

Exercise wise, I have no idea where to begin. I’m doing a little bit of yoga (the best I can!) and I need to know what kind of workouts can I do? What are some good workout videos that I can buy? Should I get 2 or 5 pound weights? I own a set of 2 pound weights but a lot of videos suggest 5 pounds. Is that okay to use the 2 pound weights for a while? Which of the biggest loser videos are the best to do? BTW-I already own the Biggest loser cookbook and have been using it a lot.

Please don’t suggest things like bike riding or swimming. I have no place to store a bike in my apartment when I’m not using it, I don’t have access to a pool and I can’t find a suit in my size-I’ve looked everywhere or walking. I’m already walking briskly 5-10 minutes 3 times a week, which is all I can handle.

What about Richard Simmons tapes? He seems pretty geeky and out there to me. Has his tapes helped anyone loose weight?

His workout tapes, at least the VHS versions-are pretty cheap on Amazon and eBay.

I have both a DVD/VCR combo player, so it doesn’t matter if I get workout tapes on DVD or VHS.

I prefer working out at home because I feel intimidated going into a gym right now because of my size. What are some good workout tapes I can do at home? Thanks!!
to the first poster about fad diets: if fad diets are so bad then why are telling me to try one?

I’m not stupid. I know fad diets are bad. BTW would you or another poster please tell me what part of my question makes you think I’m trying a fad diet.

weight loss/ diet n exercise???




i have attempted weight loss vigorously, i excercise a lot, and i eat i think pretty healthy. i’ve been doing this a week or 2, and i know there will not be any substancial difference, but my weight is going UP. i was wondering maybe im not doing the right exercises or eating the best foods. could anybody tell me what exercises will burn a lot of calories but wont leave me extremely drained or sweaty because i still have a lot of other work. (i currently do tae bo, yoga, and i run on a treadmill once every couple-3 days a mile and a half.) also, any foods that will get you full, but are not loaded w/ calories. right now i drink a glass or water/ orange juice for breakfast, turkey sandwich w/ sunchips and apples for lunch, and chicken soup/ small amount of meat w/ rice/ salad no dressing for dinner. also, just curious, but i was thinking for this period of time while i am working towards my goal, do body shapers really work? also tips for dressing to appear more slim? thanx!

weight loss and time?




Hi there,
I was wondering how soon till you start seeing weight loss resluts. In the morning I eat a yogurt, soup for lunch and tuna with fresh greens beans or something healthy for dinner. I only have enough time to workout between classes, so i can usually do about 10-15 minutes of just jump roping, then some yoga. I was wondering about how long till i see results, and am I doing the right things to lose the weight?

Does eating broccoli & fish & mushrooms sound like a healthy weight loss meal for lunch?
I read somewhere that broccoli makes your stomach bloat? Is that just temporary or does it not help me in getting a flat stomach?

I do yoga regularly on top of watching my diet. It’s just that there’s only crap food around my office area so I think it’s time to cook at home and microwave at work.

i have a one week vacation and now is my first day in school again,.since i’ve gone through a vacation i think i gain a little weight and my diet plan is ruined because of our vacation,.well i ate breakfast this day and a biscuit and pineapple juice for lunch then at 4:30 i was kinda dizzy and a little starve what do you think is the reason?what should i eat and do?

I’ve been on a strict diet, and my metabolism is probably slow from it. But today I ate a looooot of calories for lunch, and I’m supposed to be having a big dinner tonight. Will this day alone of bad eating make me gain weight? =/

Morning- Bacon Egg and Cheese or cereal—-what other types of food should I eat in the morning

Lunch- Ham, cheese, letuce, tomato on a roll

Dinner- rice with some type of meat

Diet plan?




I am afraid i might not be taking in enough calories and or fat into my diet. I usually eat a large breakfast of toast, eggs, yougurt and fruit, or cereal and fruit. For lunch i either eat a turkey sandwich with veggies or fruit or a lean cuisine dinner and maybe pasta, for dinner i usually have chicken and vegetables? Am i getting enough calories? Fat?

I goto the gym 2-3 hours 5 days a week usally treadmil weights bike differant things i eat whole wheat bread with peanut butter for breakfast apple and some other random stuff for lunch and dinner usally eat light but i dont know just Random.. I drink LOADS of watter. Im trying too lose 150 pounds i want too lose 70 bye august i dont care about the safety or buying anything or joining anything i just want help.. Thank you.<3

Diet Plan??




Is this a good diet plan to lose 10lbs 2 months?
I am a 14(almost 15) year old girl; 5’3; 115lbs.

I’m mostly muscle(from so much gymnastics; quit this last september) and I’m trying to really lean out. I need to do it quickly though. I want to be able to wear skinny jean or a swimsuit with out being self conscious.

Diet Plan:

Breakfast: 1 balance bar (200 calories)
Lunch: fruit smoothie (around 200-300 calories)
Dinner: soup or one of those lean cuisines (around 200-300 calories)

Exercise:
training for cross country (anywhere from 5 on my short days to 18 on my longest day)

Please give me your honest opinion!
Keep in mind I’m kind of on a tight schedule with this thing. Gotta work quick quick quick.
I might do a peanut butter sandwich for dinner sometimes too…

calories a day doing everyday things. Well I’m only consuming 1000 calories a day. And working out at least 30min to a hour a day. So i’m burning more then 1600 a day with a work. So why am I not losing weight.

During the day I will eat a nutri-grain bar for breakfast ( 140 cal) Then a protein bar mid mornig (180 cal) for lunch it would be south beach lunch ( 350 cal) then a 100 cal snake mid day and for dinner a 2 grilled chicken strips ( 220 cal )

That’s 990 calories and all I drink is water. I’m not hugery either
I mean would I like to have a burger and fries " hell ya" But I am making better choices. all I want to is to lose 10 lb and I would be happy, I’ve been doing this for 2 months now and nothing. What am I doing wrong ???
