DON’T recommend pills or detox diets – they’re stupid! and i don’t want to gain the weight back once i’m able to eat real food again.
I just want to know what a girl should do – more lifting? or more running…because i’ve definitely seen positive side effects in both. but in about 3.5 weeks i need to drop some pounds (and not just number wise) – i need to shrink up a bit (tone). should i just lift like crazy??!

Actually, bodybuilders know that lifting CAN help you burn fat. That’s because increased muscle mass helps you to burn more calories when you workout — including when you run. This is especially true for people who are low in muscle mass. So that best answer is to do BOTH running and lifting — with an emphasis on running, but with plenty of muscle building to get the fat-to-muscle ratio more lean. You don’t need to become a body builder and start getting bulky…just increase your muscles along with cardiovascular exercise like running or biking.
Hey, you should focus on running because fat can’t turn into muscle; it has to be burned off first. However, you should still lift to tone your muscles.
Just as importantly, eat healthier! Small, more frequent meals should increase your metabolism and make you burn more calories.
Okay, if you need to lose weight, you need to run more, DEFINITELY. When you lift weights, it just makes you stronger, it won’t help you with weight, so, if you want to lose some pounds, go with the running. Weight lifting and other things like that help boost your metabolism, but, running burns lots of calories.
Definitely do both but remember These numbers vary on a person’s size and daily activity but on the average men burn 2200 calories a day and women burn 1700 calories a day. That means that you need to keep the calories below those marks or you will gain weight. If you are able to lose 3500 calories in a seven day period then that will lose you one pound of fat. There are a few ways to do this. One way is to eat less and make sure it is easy to digest foods, like vegetables, lettuce, chicken, fish, etc.. The other way is to workout. I suggest this route because you have a much more fun lifestyle and look better. Working out tones and tightens your muscles as well as burns calories. The easiest way to lose weight is to buy a road bike (ten speed) and ride at least an hour a day. The typical 1 hour ride will burn between 800-900 calories. When you get better it makes good sense to ride two to three hours 3 to 4 times a week. You can do the math on the calorie lose. You can lose weight quickly, safely and it’s better for your heart nd lungs as well. Good Luck!!!
